Message from California Council of the Blind’s Frank Welte-
I had a great time at the sixth annual California Council of the Blind (CCB) Mutt Strut walk/run fundraiser in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, November 19. I completed the 5K walk in one hour and one minute. I had a lot of fun visiting with old friends and making new ones, and I got to pet a lot of really cute dogs, too. I wish you could have been there.
Actually, you can still be a part of the Mutt Strut by sponsoring my successful walk by visiting my fundraising page at .

Also, it’s not too late for you to get in on our “Great Getaway Sweepstakes”. The first prize is a pair of Southwest Airlines tickets. Sweepstakes tickets are $2.00 each, and you can get yours by contacting me, or you can pick up a book of 10 tickets by calling the CCB office at (800) 221-6359.
Finally, I would be grateful if you would share this note with people in your personal and professional networks, so they can also contribute in their own way.
Since 1934, the California Council of the Blind has harnessed the collective strength and wisdom of our state’s blind and visually impaired community to make California a great place for people living with vision loss through sponsoring college scholarships, providing emergency financial assistance for blind people in need, fighting discrimination against people who are blind and advocating for improved opportunities and services by means of legislation, regulatory changes and public education. Our nearly three dozen local chapters provide communities of support to blind individuals throughout the state.
