Message from California Council of the Blind First Vice President Frank Welte about the 2016 Mutt Strut:
The California Council of the Blind (CCB) is holding its sixth annual Mutt Strut walk/run in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Crescenta Valley Park in La Crescenta, California. All well-behaved dogs are welcome as long as they bring a human (humans need the exercise more than dogs do). I am walking to raise funds to support the organization's ongoing efforts to serve blind and visually impaired Californians. The morning will be filled with walking, running, food, entertainment, exhibitors, presentations and the opportunity to mix and mingle with our dog friends and their human partners.
There are many ways to support our efforts:
* You can sponsor me by donating on my page at:
http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/frankwelte/mutt-strut-2016-los-angeles
* You can register for the event and come join my walking team, Team GDUC,

There is a $40.00 Registration fee. You don’t have to bring your dog.
* You can take part in our “Great Getaway Sweepstakes”. The first prize is a pair of Southwest Airlines tickets. Sweepstakes tickets are $2.00 each, and you can get yours by calling the CCB office at (800) 221-6359.
* Tell others in your personal and professional networks about the event, so they can also contribute in their own way.
Since 1934, the California Council of the Blind has harnessed the collective strength and wisdom of our state’s blind and visually impaired community to make California a great place for people living with vision loss through sponsoring college scholarships, providing emergency financial assistance for blind people in need, fighting discrimination against people who are blind and advocating for improved opportunities and services by means of legislation, regulatory changes and public education. Our nearly three dozen local chapters provide communities of support to blind individuals throughout the state.
